After breakfast, travel through the scenic countryside toward Dambulla, the heart of Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle. En route, visit the Millennium Elephant Foundation, dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of rescued elephants.

After breakfast, proceed to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Sri Lanka’s most remarkable historical capitals. Explore the impressive ruins, royal palaces, ancient temples, and advanced irrigation systems that once supported this great civilization and earned Sri Lanka the name “the Granary of the East.”

After breakfast, visit the Golden Buddha Statue and the UNESCO-listed Dambulla Cave Temple, the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. Dating back to the first century B.C., the temple features five caves filled with ancient murals, statues, and remarkable historical artwork carved into the rock rising 160 meters above the plains.

Continue to a Matale Spice Garden to explore Sri Lanka’s famous spices and traditional herbal knowledge before proceeding to Kandy, the last royal capital of the Sinhalese kingdom. Continue to the Royal Botanical Gardens Peradeniya, one of Asia’s finest botanical gardens, home to a rich variety of tropical flora including over 4,000 plant species, hundreds of orchid varieties, and the scenic Mahaweli River flowing alongside the gardens.

Later, journey through the scenic hill country toward Nuwara Eliya, passing misty mountains, waterfalls, and endless tea plantations. Known as “Little England,” the town reflects its colonial heritage with charming architecture and a cool climate throughout the year.
